The Biko Sports Bands should be part of your athlete and working dog’s conditioning program. These are ideal for dogs competing in weight pull, agility, fly bal, dock diving, scent work, tracking, obedience and more.
TheBiko Sports Bandsrun from the dorsal midline D ring of a standard Roman Harness to the tarsal area of the dog’s hind limbs.As the bands lengthen, the resistance increases, mimicking the dog’s everyday activities and sports-specific activities. The functional movement patterns of the resistance bands aid the canine athlete in developing and maintaining optimum strength and endurance.
The Bands come in three resistance strengths, in a color-coded system of progressive resistance – lime green (light resistance), orange (medium resistance) and royal blue (strong resistance).
Just like humans when they start a new exercise regimen, their muscles are engaging in a new form of activity that they have not engaged in previously. For that reason, we recommend starting all athlete and working dogs on the light resistance (lime green) – no matter their current level of conditioning.
Goal
To build up to 20 minutes for two to three weeks before moving to next level of resistance – light resistance(green); medium resistance(orange)strong resistance(royal blue)
Introduce your dog to thegreen(light resistance) Bands for 5 minutes for the first week (3x in one week)
Add1 minuteper sessionsecond week– so an increase of 2-3 minutes per week depending on how often you decide to condition your dog.
Once you reach 20 minutes of conditioning – stay with it for two (2) to three (3) weeks before switching to the next level of resistance –orange(medium resistance) Bands
Repeat the protocol for each level of resistance – reach 20 minutes two or three times a week for two to three weeks before moving on to the next Resistance Band –royal blue
Each Kit comes with 3 pairs of resistance bands (1 of each Green, Orange, Blue) and One pair of foot cuffs
